Last week, 600 cooling boxes for mother milk for prematurely born babies arrived at the NICU of the Amsterdam UMC.
The 600 new cooling bags will allow parents of prematurely born babies who are in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) to bring mother milk from home to the hospital, where it will help with the babies’ nutrition. As for all babies, but especially preemies, building a strong gut flora and supporting the developing immune system is critical to their (later) health.
We are happy that Sophie Foundation could fulfill this wish of the staff of the NICU to further support parents of prematurely born babies.
